Overview

Character development runs through all that happens at this school. Ofsted, June 2025

At HSAEL, for children to become leaders in their chosen field, they will need much more than good exam results. Their qualifications will get them to the door of great opportunities, but the skills and experiences they accrue throughout their adolescence will mean they can have a positive change on their life and their community.

We want students to show:

  • Growth by articulating confidently and with conviction; demonstrating grit to overcome challenges.
  • Responsibility and Excellence by gaining a breadth of diverse cultural experiences, including opportunities for leadership.
  • Ambition by aiming high, through establishing clear and challenging goals with a defined pathway.
  • Compassion by fostering and maintaining positive relationships to build successful networks.

Slide1 2

By the time students leave HSAEL they will:

  • Visit an art gallery and museum.
  • Watch a show at the theatre.
  • Experience a residential away from home.
  • Have encounters with different universities.
  • Engage in debating and public speaking.
  • Raised money for charity.
  • Gained work experience in number of different settings.
