Just two years after opening, HSAEL is celebrating a set of results likely to place it among the most improved schools in England, with a quarter of GCSEs awarded a top grade 8 or 9 – twice the national rate.aWell done to our amazing students and staff!https://t.co/RH96OPVYwT pic.twitter.com/AKsgidKdPt

I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to HSAEL and the entire staff at Harris Academy for the support and guidance that has contributed to my daughter’s academic success. Thank you again for playing a significant role in her educational journey.

School Meals and Free School Meals

School MealsOur menu has been created after extensive research into student preferences, but is also nutritious and compliant with all government guidelines.

We recently changed our catering provider to Innovate (IFG) who have produced a welcome letter which you can read at the bottom of the page.

Innovate’s aim, along with the Academy, is to provide all students with an exceptional catering experience. Our very talented Executive Chef and the fantastic catering team will be serving exciting menus packed with healthy ingredients, that are full of variety, and with loads of interesting new things to try. It’s important that the food tastes as good as it looks, and we’re sure you won’t be disappointed. See our menu and tariffs at the bottom of this page.

Cashless payments - lunch cards

The academy uses the ParentPay cashless system for canteen purchases. Parents can top up a student's lunch card via ParentPay by means of debit card, credit card or PayPoint card.

Replacement lunch cards can be ordered at the cost of £2.50 via ParentPay. Please note that we only monitor transactions each morning and will aim to produce a card the same day and have it delivered to the student. If a card has been ordered later in the day it will be picked up the following day. Please allow 48 hours before contacting us if your child has not yet received their replacement lunch card.

Free school meals

If you are receiving any of the following benefits your child could be eligible for Free School Meals, worth £2.38 per day:

  • Income Support
  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • The guaranteed element of Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
  • Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
  • Universal Credit - if you apply on or after 1 April 2018 your household income must be less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)

The Academy will also receive an extra £955 funding, which can be used for resources such as extra tuition, additional teaching staff or after-school activities.

Free School Meal applications should be made online, using this link: https://www.cloudforedu.org.uk/ofsm/harrisfederation
